Social Media and Finding a New Job

Where do you start!  According to MBAonline.com 16% of professionals found a job using social media!  Are you using LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook for your job search?

First of all, make sure you have a LinkedIn profile.  Recruiters are actively looking for candidates for their job openings through LinkedIn.  Make sure you have your resume attached to your profile along with your e-mail address, so recruiters can find you and get in contact with you.  Does your profile clearly list the position which best fits your background.  Post an update regularly.  Recruiters are looking for people who are recommended by others, so actively ask for recommendations.  “Follow” the companies that you would like to work for in your next position!
